Behavior Calendars
and expectations
Behavior calendars will begin after the first two weeks of school. This allows for our rules and expectations to be established and practiced. The calendar is a daily communication between home and school and should remain in your child's green folder. Completed calendars will be kept in Leadership Notebooks.
All children will know exactly what is expected of them, so all you and I need to do is keep praising the positive and reminding them that they have the power to make positive choices. On the right side of the calendar, you will see an explanation of the color coding that represents your child’s behavior choices for the day. Thank you for noticing all the wonderful things your child does and for helping your child make plans for change if poor choices occur. The more we focus on the positive, the more we’ll help children see the positives in themselves. When children (and people in general) feel good about themselves, they spread that goodness.

Below is the positive behavior support model used throughout our school (with added tweaks at different grade levels. You will notice below that in first grade your child is given a few opportunities to correct poor choices. They are kids, they are learning and growing, and they are not expected to be perfect. Our goal is to have a positive classroom environment where everyone has the opportunity to learn and lead.
