Q - What can my child bring for snack?
A - Our healthy snack choices
1. Fruit (fresh, canned, dried)
2. Vegetables
3. Healthy Yogurt
4. Cheese
5. Peeled, Hard-Boiled Eggs
6. Cottage Cheese
7. Pickles
8. Olives
9. Lunch Meat
Though there are many plenty of other healthy snacks, we work hard to avoid having crumbs in the classroom and having to read labels to make sure a snack is healthy and nut-free. If your child brings something other than items mentioned above, he/she will be asked to enjoy them at lunchtime or bring them home.

Q - Are students allowed to bring birthday treats?
A - Yes, students may bring birthday treats that are nut free. Please make it one simple treat; a cookie, muffin, cupcake, individual bag of pretzels, popsicles, etc... OR a goody bag. Do not send both a treat and a goody bag. Please do not send full cakes.
Q - Why does it matter what type of top my child's water bottle has?
A - Tops that screw off to be used often are a source of major spills which ruin work and take up important instructional time.
Q - Will first graders go on any field trips?
A - Yes! We go on at least two field trips each year. Both of our field trips are walking trips in the spring to locations in town (city hall and the library). Some years we go on an additional trip when schedules allow.
Q- How do we get more golden reading tickets for home?
A - Your child will know where the golden ticket sheets are kept and can take another one home at any time.
